Breaking the Mold: Acadia's 2024 Unveiling
GMC has consistently raised the bar in the automobile industry, and its all-new 2024 Acadia is a testament to this legacy. This article takes a detailed look into what sets the 2024 Acadia apart from its predecessors and competitors.
Size and Space: Acadia's New Dimensions
Space has always been a hallmark of luxury SUVs, and the 2024 Acadia makes no exception. Now standing taller and longer—10.6 inches in length and 3.2 inches in height to be precise—the vehicle promises unparalleled spaciousness. This transformation translates into an enhanced passenger experience with configurations allowing for seven or eight occupants. Additionally, cargo space has been significantly amplified, ensuring that storage woes are a thing of the past. Indeed, the new Acadia now offers 80% more cargo space behind the third row and 36% behind the second row than in the previous generation, which was already quite generous in that regard.
Engine Upgrades: Power Meets Elegance
While its modern appearance catches the eye first, the Acadia’s new engine is no less of a talkig point. The new 2.5L turbocharged engine, producing 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque, ensures that the Acadia isn’t just about looks—it’s also about capabilities. As in the 2024 Traverse in which it was first shown, this engine is paired with a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system that helps prevent slips and slides in the winter.
Technologically ahead
A major highlight of the 2024 Acadia is its commitment to technology. The inclusion of the standard portrait-oriented 15-inch-diagonal infotainment screen promises an immersive entertainment experience. Furthermore, the integration of the Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance system underlines GMC’s focus on safety and convenience. This system is one of the most advanced in the industry as it can drive the vehicle without any physical inputs from the driver over more than 400,000 miles of charted highways in North America, even when towing a trailer.
Special Features: AT4 and Denali
The 2024 Acadia lineup brings special attention to its AT4 and Denali trims. The AT4, tailored for off-road enthusiasts, offers features like off-road suspension and a special Active Torque Control all-wheel-drive system. Distinctive exterior treatments such as black wheels, a black grille, and red tow hooks set the AT4 apart from other Acadia models. On the other hand, the Denali, synonymous with luxury, boasts features like a panoramic sunroof, laser-etched wood décor, and a Bose premium sound system. Here again, exterior elements distinguish this version from the other models in the lineup, this time via chrome accents and available 22-inch aluminum wheels.
In Anticipation of Its Arrival
Manufactured at GM’s Lansing Delta Township Assembly in Michigan, the 2024 GMC Acadia is poised to hit the roads in early 2024. This new model will see a new era of GMC SUVs and crossovers following in the coming years.
