GMC Sierra EV Denali: 708 km Range Shatters Expectations

GMC has just announced some great news for electric truck buyers—the upcoming 2024 Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 will have significantly more all-electric range than initially estimated. This premium, limited-edition electric pickup is now expected to deliver a GM-estimated 708 km of range on a single charge, an impressive 10% increase over the original 644 km estimate.

For GMC's iconic Denali sub-brand celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 is truly the "Denali of EVs" according to Duncan Aldred, GMC's global vice president. It represents the pinnacle of the brand's design, luxury, and capability - but now with a hugely extended electric driving range to match.

So, what makes this truck's range so remarkable? The increased estimate is thanks to optimizations of GM's advanced Ultium battery platform. But range is just one part of the Sierra EV's incredible capabilities. It will also launch with a stout max towing rating of 10,000 lbs and 1,450 lb max payload capacity.

When you need to unleash every ounce of performance, the Sierra EV Denali can summon up to 754 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque in Max Power mode. That's serious muscle for merging, passing, or hauling heavy loads. Yet, it maintains all the refined luxury buyers expect from the Denali name.

The Sierra EV also brings trail-blazing tech features to the electric truck segment. The GMC-exclusive CrabWalk mode allows diagonal driving at low speeds for easier maneuvering in tight spaces. The trick MultiPro Midgate extends the truck's load floor to nearly 11 feet. And Super Cruise enables true hands-free driving on compatible roads when trailering.

Helping maximize that impressive range is an 800V DC fast charging system capable of adding 160 miles in just 10 minutes at a public charging station. An Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and Four-Wheel Steer enhance both comfort and maneuverability.

From its striking Denali styling cues to its wide array of bed accessories and interior luxuries, the 2024 Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 is an electric truck that pulls no punches. It delivers the latest EV technology and capabilities in a bold, premium package.

With its combination of extended range, raw power, ingenious features, and unmistakable Denali presence, the Sierra EV is positioned to be a true leader among electric pickup trucks. The future of premium electric trucking starts this summer.
